Polygon and MetaMask

Why did we choose Polygon?
keyboard_arrow_down

To put it simply, we believe the Polygon network will become the critical backbone to the metaverse and Defi gaming universe as it offers cheaper and more efficient scaling solutions in the ecosystem.

Polygon is a framework for building interconnected blockchain networks. It is the leading layer two scaling solution that helps to solve some of Ethereum’s major limitations through Proof-of-Stake, Optimistic Rollups and ZK Rollups, enabling higher throughput (65k transactions per second with block confirmation time of <2s) and lower transaction costs.

In just one year, the number of Dapps built on Polygon increased 100 times to 3000 Dapps. Many big Web3 platforms have already joined the Polygon network, from NFT marketplace like OpenSea and DeFi protocols like Aave to Metaverse players like Decentraland. It further shows how Polygon’s compatibility with the Ethereum Virtual Machine makes it one of the ideal platforms for developing projects leveraging existing tools.

Polygon is designed to facilitate a future where different blockchains no longer operate as closed-off siloes but instead as networks that fit into a broader interconnected landscape — perfect for Metaverse and Gamfi projects to scale and thrive through fast, secure and low-cost transactions

What is a digital wallet?

Digital wallets are tools that work as a bridge between the blockchain and the dApp (decentralized applications). This means that with a wallet you will be able to monitor your available funds, transaction history and security options.

How to set up MetaMask wallet for Polygon Network?
keyboard_arrow_down

Since $MAMA is on the Polygon Network, you will need a wallet that support the Polygon/Matic Mainnet. There are different wallet types, software ( MetaMask, TrustWallet...), and hardware ( Trezor or Ledger).

Downloading MetaMask
Visit the MetaMask website and download the MetaMask extension for your browser (e.g. Chrome, Firefox, etc.)

Creating a wallet

i. Create a new wallet if you haven't got one already.

ii. Click import wallet if you have an existing wallet.

Warning: Set up your password and write secret recovery phrase somewhere offline, so hacker won't be able to get hold of your wallet even if they tried.

Congrats you have downloaded MetaMask on your device(s)!!

Set up MetaMask to connect to Polygon Network

In this guide, we would use the Chrome extension as an example.

1.  Switch the connected blockchain by clicking on the tab "Main Ethereum Network", then click  "Add Network" or "Custom RPC" at the bttom.

2.  Enter the following information:
Network Name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com
Chain ID: 137
Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/

3.  Click "Save"

Congrats!! You have now connected to the Polygon / Matic mainnet with your Metamask Wallet!

Now you have the basic tools needs to buy and store your $MAMA

How to buy MAMA

Trading for $MAMA from Exchanges

There are many exchanges that support Polygon Mainnet withdrawal. Here is the list:

Binance
Crypto.com
Gate.io
KuKoin

You can find more Centralised Exchanges (CEX) on here https://awesomepolygon.com/cex/

1.  Get some $MATICs for gas fees and DAI for buying MAMAfrom CEXs listed above
2.  Get your MetaMask wallet ready. Add & switch network to Polygon in MetaMask wallet (click here for more info on MetaMask wallet setup)
     i. Switch the connected blockchain by clicking on the tab "Main Ethereum Network", then click  "Add Network" or "Custom RPC".

ii.Enter the following information:
Network Name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com
ChainID: 137
Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/

3.  Withdraw $MATIC from the centralised exchange you use for your wallet. Remember to select Polygon as the network. The wallet address of your Metamask wallet should be the same as the one you have for Ethereum.

  • Click the icon more_vert on Metamask and select "Account details"
  • Copy your wallet address for withdrawal

4.  Go to QuickSwap, one of the Decentralised Exchanges (DEX) on the Polygon network
5.  Make sure the output currency is $MAMA. You can also copy and paste MAMA contract address in the output currency field to ensure you are swapping the right token. The MAMA token address on Polygon is [ Announced at Launch].

6.  Swap some $MATIC to $MAMA. Alternatively, you can select any input currency based on your available wallet balance on the Polygon network. We recommend DAI-MAMA pair for the deepest liquidity!

Warning: Don’t swap all $MATIC! You should save some $MATIC for future gas fees, 0.1~1 $MATIC is enough for plenty of transactions.

7.  After the "Approve" transaction has been processed successfully, click "Swap" and sign the transaction.

8 .  You should see MAMA in your wallet balance now after the swap transaction is successful. If you cannot find it in your wallet, add MAMA contract address to your wallet.
    i.  Click "Import Tokens" under Assets tab on your metamask wallet
ii.  Enter the MAMA contract address [Announce at launch]

Note: The "Approve" transaction is only needed when you swap MAMA for the first time; subsequent swapping only requires you to perform the "Swap" transaction.

  1. Follow the steps above to add the Polygon network to your MetaMask.
  2. Get some $MATIC for gas fees from the Matic faucet https://macncheese.finance/matic-polygon-mainnet-faucet.php
  3. Bridge your assets to Polygon with one of the following bridges:

Ethereum
For CEX such as Coinbase,
use PoS bridge https://wallet.polygon.technology/bridge
Use above CEX to bridge your ETH/USDT to Polygon

BSC
The best option is to use Binance as a bridge.
